Informix Corporation has announced that Informix Foundation.2000, the company`s high performance, fully extensible data and content management platform for the Internet, and Cloudscape 3.5, the Java database for embeddable systems and distributed e-business applications, are now available on Linux.
Foundation.2000 and Cloudscape on Linux enable developers and users to develop and deploy Web-based applications that scale from the smallest devices to enterprise class systems.
"Foundation.2000 helps enterprises win in the new economy by reducing Internet application development cycles, simplifying the migration of existing applications to the Internet, and lowering the overall cost of ownership for enterprise software applications," says Julian Field, business unit manager at Informix SA.
"Cloudscape, Informix`s 100 percent pure Java database, can be embedded in single or multi-user applications as a local data manager, and provides all the advantages of Java, including its "write once, run anywhere" implementation.
"We are fully committed to the Linux marketplace, as demonstrated by the port of the latest releases of our flagship products to the Linux platform. Informix was the first to deliver a commercially available database engine on Linux, and now is extending its lead by offering these latest releases of products that are scalable, reliable and affordable," says Field.
