INFINIDAT, an international leader in software-centric data storage solutions, is sponsoring this year's ITWeb Cloud Summit at The Forum, Bryanston.
The event is taking place on 12 February and will provide a platform for cloud experts, researchers and industry practitioners across South Africa. The summit will discuss the latest on cloud and emerging trends in the industry as well as provide key industry experts the opportunity to network and exchange ideas.
Hayden Sadler, Country Manager for South Africa at INFINIDAT will be presenting at the Cloud Summit, together with Ronald Van Staden, Director of Silicon Sky, on why companies should be embracing public cloud for their storage requirements, and how they can reduce costs and improve performance on this platform.
Sadler said: "Despite the many benefits associated with the imminence of a local public cloud presence, there are hidden expenses around data migration that could impede a cloud strategy.
"What many businesses don't know is that public cloud workloads can be moved without actually moving their data that resides in a private cloud.
During the event, we will explain how INFINIDAT is able to bridge the gap between the data centre and the cloud or multiple cloud platforms by providing cloud-adjacent storage in a private, on-premises cloud."
In addition , Sadler will focus on how, once the data is on INFINIDAT's private cloud, it can be used in any or all cloud compute layers, providing customers with the flexibility to choose which service is the right fit for their needs, at any specific moment in time.
"This event is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase our solutions and expertise. We will highlight how INFINIDAT can add real business value to organisations in South Africa with data storage that delivers improved performance and availability at an impressive price point," Sadler concluded.
