State-of-the-Art Speech Recognition Technology Increases Design Productivity IMSI announces the release of TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D, a computer-aided design software solution that allows users to quickly and easily learn CAD as they design. Based on IMSI's award-winning TurboCAD technology, the TurboCAD Designer solution is an easy, effective introduction to the world of computer-aided design.

"TurboCAD Designer offers users a variety of ways to quickly learn CAD," says Roopinder Tara, general manager of IMSI's CAD division. "A novice can work through the entire multimedia tutorial in under one hour. The user also can take advantage of an excellent tutorial-style manual that is tailored to the needs of the beginner."

He points out, however, that TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D is much more than a beginner's CAD package. It provides users with powerful 2D drawing tools and basic 3D drawing tools within the familiar Microsoft Office interface.

As an added bonus, voice-enabled menu commands provide users with the ability to create drawings by simply talking to their computer. Recognizing 300 verbal CAD commands, TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D allows users to increase productivity by working hands-free.

Included in TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D is the "Guide to Learning and Using CAD."

This comprehensive tutorial-style manual provides users with numerous, progressive lessons. Each lesson contains step-by-step instruction covering a range of topics - from understanding the fundamentals and concepts of CAD to learning the program's design environment and its interface elements. The tutorials also include drawing techniques, dimensioning, and 3D drawing tips. In addition to the guide, a narrated multimedia tutorial takes the user from the basics of using CAD to creating professional-quality drawing in under an hour. And a Internet-based help desk offers tips and tricks and instantly answers user questions.

TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D is packed with useful content. It has more than 1,000 editable house plans, over 100 design tools, 2,000 CAD symbols, and handle-based editing for creating quick and easy custom designs.

Pricing and System Requirements

TurboCAD Designer 2D/3D requires a 486 DX II/66 or higher, 16 MB RAM minimum, 30 MB minimum of hard disk space, a VGA monitor/display card or better with a minimum of 256 colors and a double speed CD-ROM drive. Voice recognition requires a 166 MHz Pentium and 32MB RAM. An Internet connection is recommended.
