IMSI makes magic with Easi-Win Computing

By IMSI SA
Johannesburg, 25 Feb 1999

IMSI SA has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Easi-Win Computing, developers of Address Magic, a local package designed to take the hassle out of addresses and labelling. As a result of the agreement IMSI SA will distribute Address Magic to software retail outlets throughout Southern Africa.

The product, characterised by an animated, talking "Wizard", is the first commercial package to be developed by Easi-Win.

Commenting on the decision to enter into a distribution agreement, IMSI SA's General Manager John Rundle said: "Address Magic sits very well with our office productivity suite of products, which include Form Tool, the best-selling form automation product, and Turbo Project, as well as an innovative multimedia authoring application and a video editing software suite."

"The IMSI Office Products division is designed to provide corporations and small businesses with the tools needed to maximize their productivity. Address Magic has the same look and feel to it as those within the IMSI stable, and we believe that the synergies between the products will work well with us," he said.

This is the first time that IMSI SA has signed a formal distribution agreement for a South African developed product.

According to John Rundle, the timing of the agreement coincides with a strong thrust by IMSI into the corporate market, and a drive to increase market share.

"We intend to become a significant player in the South African corporate market as our product complement the popular desktop suites," he added.

"So easy to use, you'll be the winner," is the catch phrase behind the product and encapsulates the development philosophy of Easi-Win Computing which was founded by Chief Executive, Tony Emmerick.

Tony said "We are very pleased to be associated with IMSI, a company that has always been held in high esteem by all at Easi-Win Computing. Their innovative, well designed product range has been extensively used by us for several years"

Tony says "You would not think of owning a dog without a leash... so why use a word processor without Address Magic! This applies particularly to those that do a fair amount of correspondence." Address Magic had a rave review in I Technology dated 19 January 1999. To quote a sentence from their software review, "Address Magic is a simple, effective program that does what it promises with elegance and efficiency."
