IMSI enters into Internet licensing agreement with Microsoft

Subscription to IMSI's ArtToday.com visual content Web Site now available to purchasers of Microsoft's Picture It! photo-editing software
By IMSI SA
Johannesburg, 08 Feb 1999

IMSI - developer and publisher of business productivity software - announced it will be including a 30-day subscription of its Internet visual content site, ArtToday.com, in MicrosoftGraphics Studio Picture It! 99, the latest version of the company's award-winning photo-editing software.

"The market for visual content is estimated at over $1 billion annually. We believe that in the near future, the Internet will be the dominant method of delivering images to end users," says Martin Sacks, president and chief executive officer for IMSI.

"This agreement with Microsoft marks an important milestone in our strategy to be the leading destination for visual content and images on the Internet."

IMSI recently acquired Zedcor, Inc. and its web site, ArtToday.com, as a complement to its own MasterClips? Premium Image Collection. The combination of these two collections offers users access to well over one million art images, animations, and photos - one of the largest visual content collections in the world.

As a result of the Microsoft and IMSI agreement, users of Picture It! 99 will enjoy a free subscription for 30 days to more than 750,000 art and animation images via ArtToday.com. If they choose to subscribe after their 30-day trial period, users will receive unlimited access to ArtToday.com images for the low annual subscription of around R495.

"ArtToday.com is a great service for users of Picture It! 99," says Peter Gariepy, vice president of sales for ArtToday.com. "With the ease of accessing images online, users can spend more time creating and less time sorting through dozens of CD-ROMs. Obviously, you can't find an easier way to access 750,000 clip art, animations, vector art, photos or web images if you're using Picture It! 99. It's the only way to go."

As part of the Microsoft's Graphics Studio line, a premier brand of desktop publishing and imaging products, Picture It! 99 consumer photo-editing software provides professional-quality digital imaging functionality for home and small-business users. With expanded photo-editing and enhancement capabilities, greater ease of use and now two CDs of high-quality templates, project ideas and clip art, it's more fun than ever to turn good pictures into great pictures, calendars, e-mail postcards, business flyers and more.

"We're very excited to be able to introduce our users to ArtToday.com," says Jonathan Schwarz, worldwide product manager for Picture It! 99, Microsoft Corp. "Picture It! 99 inspires you to do more with personal photos than you ever thought possible. Now with access to ArtToday.com, the creative possibilities are virtually endless."
