iiDENTIFii, a market leader in digital biometric identity verification, is pleased to announce that the company has secured a finalist spot in the noteworthy KPMG Private Enterprise Tech Innovator Africa Awards.
The prestigious competition showcases Africa’s leading tech innovators and has been seen as a significant steppingstone in achieving international recognition. The winner will be automatically entered into the Global Tech Innovator Award, which will be presented at Web Summit 2021 in November 2021.where the winner from the African continent will compete against many other countries in the world for the top spot.
iiDENTIFii was selected because of its pioneering and innovative facial biometric authentication solution, that can be used by a wide range of businesses across various sectors, including financial institutions, online retail, in education and health services. To date, three of the largest banking groups in South Africa and Africa have selected iiDENTIFii as their technology partner in this space.
iiDENTIFii’s solution works by the client simply taking a selfie and linking it to their profile along with their ID number and photo of their ID documents. These are then cross-checked with physical identity documents from the Department of Home Affairs. This type of facial authentication means that businesses can easily identify who they are dealing with, and it gives users control of their account without risking their identity.
Gur Geva, co-founder and CEO of iiDENTIFii, says: “We are honoured to be named as a top 10 finalist on the African continent in the KPMG Private Enterprise Tech Innovator Awards. We believe that our ability to provide an identity protection tool that is flexible, cost-effective and future-proof allows our clients to provide a secure service to their new and existing clientele.”
iiDENTIFii has recently been selected and approved by Microsoft as a 'co-sell' partner. The Digital Authentication & Onboarding Solution has now been uploaded onto Microsoft's Commercial Marketplace, and introduced to Microsoft's clients globally.
Historically, identity theft has been easy to achieve – particularly for larger crime syndicates. Identity fraud costs trillions of dollars every year. For individuals whose identity data has been stolen, the impact on their lives can vary from a simple nuisance to a severe professional, financial and emotional trauma.
As South African businesses ramp up their digital transformation efforts, cyber security and fraud prevention is top of mind. Geva urges companies to strengthen their service offerings to corporate and individual clients through quality biometric facial verification.
Existing iiDENTFii clients include Standard Bank, Investec Bank, Absa Bank, Shyft, Snapscan, IDC, Stanbic Mozambique, Stanbic Kenya and Stanbic Angola.
