IBM is targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with its new Express Advantage offering.

IBM's Business Partner programme is a combination of hardware, software and services that have been specifically designed by IBM to integrate an SME's IT infrastructure. IBM says the tools aim to improve access to information and to reduce costs.

As part of the Business Partner solution, IBM has developed the Rational Quality Manager Express software. This is a Web-based management solution built on IBM's Jazz technology. According to IBM, the software provides a Web 2.0 collaborative and customisable environment for businesses.

Marc Dupaquier, GM for the IBM Global Midmarket, says: “IBM's hardware, software and services offerings for the mid-market provide business partners with cost-effective solutions to help streamline business processes, gain information insights, employ new business models and secure more reliable access to critical resources.”

IBM's Solutions Builder Express programme now includes the Solutions Consultant Tool V3. This software solution shortens a sales cycle by up to 50%, according to the company.

IBM has also developed the IBM Software Assembly Toolkit. This package assists in easy installation of multiple middleware software products. The toolkit is aimed at business partners and independent software vendors to deploy their business applications.

Arthur Povlot, sales manager of Tescom USA, says the software will assist businesses in increasing their revenue.
