HyperOffice offers PM in the cloud

HyperOffice revealed the addition of powerful new project management features to its cloud-based collaboration software suite, says Small Biz Trends.

HyperOffice integrates a range of online tools for teams to collaborate and work together effectively - e-mail, document collaboration, Intranets and Extranets, shared calendars and contacts, Web conferencing, databases and Web forms; forums, polls and wikis; user rights, backup, and more.

With this update, HyperOffice offers the first cloud project management solution designed for SMEs that is simple, yet powerful enough to manage business-grade projects in a collaborative environment.

IT manager hiring continues to fall

The jobs pipeline for IT mangers dried up in September for the fifth month in a row, indicating that corporate IT departments will conclude 2010 with cuts to their larger, non-essential projects, states Contractor UK.

In its latest Skills in Demand report, the IT Job Board said the number of IT posts for managers had almost halved since January, despite still representing about a third of all the jobs advertised. Openings for IT project managers also proved harder to come by in September, with the stock of permanent and contract roles falling for the fourth successive month, the report says.

The declines have meant that, for the first time this year, IT support has taken over from IT management as the Web site's most highly represented IT occupation, said the site's managing director Alex Farrell.

PM ventures team up

Six months after the release of Microsoft's Project Professional and Server 2010, two new project management ventures have teamed up to turbo charge the global deployment of this game changing Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution, according to PR USA.

With over 20 million Microsoft Project 2007 users ready to step up to the 2010, fully integrated SaaS iteration, BeMo - Project Intelligence's on-demand hosting solutions and SharkPro Software's ready-to-use application could not have come at a more opportune time.

For the millions of users and businesses around the globe that rely daily on Microsoft's EPM solutions, there is a lot to be happy about with the 2010 release.
