Walker, a global provider of financial, operational and analytic applications, and Hyperion Solutions, a leading provider of analytic application software for reporting, analysis, modelling and planning, have announced an expanded agreement that extends Walker`s distribution of Hyperion Essbase OLAP (online analytical processing) Server, and adds rights for Walker to distribute the recently announced Hyperion Integration Server.
The new agreement enables Walker to continue to provide performance management solutions based on the Walker Horizon suite of analytic applications and Hyperion Essbase.
Walker Horizon complements a company`s existing enterprise applications the better to predict and manage business performance. The application suite is optimised to leverage the performance, scalability and calculation capabilities of Hyperion Essbase as a strategic platform for enterprise reporting and analysis, budgeting, performance management and financial consolidation. Using one consistent OLAP data source such as Hyperion Essbase greatly simplifies the implementation and maintenance of the solution.
Hyperion and Walker Horizon customers include Fortune 500 companies across a spectrum of industries. The rapid adoption of the Walker suite places these customers at the forefront of the burgeoning analytic application market, which IDC predicts will grow to $3,6bn by 2002.
The Walker Horizon analytic applications suite includes three modules: planning and forecasting, financial consolidation; and OLAP reporting and analysis.
Walker Horizon is seamlessly integrated with Hyperion Essbase to deliver actionable information to any level of an organisation. The suite provides companies with the flexibility to define business metrics, such as key performance indicators, creating a scorecard to measure company performance. Users can drill down to any level of detail necessary to gain insight into problems or opportunities. Additionally, companies can model their organisation and business processes to preview the effect of potential business decisions.
Under the terms of the agreement, Walker will also distribute the new Hyperion Integration Server. Hyperion Integration Server is a suite of graphical tools and scalable data integration services which dramatically reduce the time and expense to create, deploy and manage OLAP applications. Using Hyperion Integration Server, users can navigate from summarised, calculated and derived data managed by Hyperion Essbase to detail data stored in relational sources.
