Hummingbird Communications, a Canadian enterprise software company, yesterday announced the opening of a new office in Johannesburg. Richard Bennett, MD of the local office, said the company is looking to extend its penetration of the South African connectivity marketplace. With the recent acquisition of Andyne Computing, a Canadian developer of graphical data access and reporting tools, Hummingbird also plans to become a serious competitor in the business intelligence market in South Africa.
