Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of the Japanese Hitachi, has appointed three strategic positions in Sub-Saharan Africa region. The company says the appointments are meant to provide a significant boost to the business in the region.
Hitachi Vantara is a company formed following the merging of the operations of Hitachi Data Systems, Hitachi Insight Group and Pentaho into one integrated business. The business specialises in aiding companies to leverage the value in their data through specialised software and data-managing solutions.
The company has appointed Dennis Naidoo as the Global Solutions Services Business Leader, Sub-Saharan Africa, while Charl Cockcroft has been positioned as financial manager, and Obed Maloka as head of customer services and support in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Alexander Jenewein, general manager and MD of the region - who was also appointed recently - said the appointments are imperative to the growth of the business. "This is an important chapter in Hitachi Vantara's development as it strategically aligns its operations and strengthens its IOT offering, and we are confident that these new appointments will bolster the business as it moves forward."
Newly appointed Naidoo will be responsible for leveraging his existing customer relationships to drive market growth in the Sub-Saharan African region. He previously held the position of director for advanced customer services at Oracle and has been in the industry for two decades.
"I am extremely customer orientated, highly sales focused and bring key relationships across all industries in SA as well as the rest of Africa. My goal is to be an agent of change for Hitachi's business transformation in the region, serving as an ambassador for Hitachi Vantara's new suite of digital solutions," says Naidoo.
Maloka, who was previously the country service manager at Diebold - a software solutions firm - is expected to take charge of the company's customer support and services operations. ""I will look to play a transformational key role by strengthening our product support function and focusing on drawing our business closer to our customers," said Maloka. He holds a BTech in Information Technology from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
Lastly, Cockcroft, who is a qualified chartered accountant, will focus on adding value to the business on a commercial level. "As much as my role is to support the business by ensuring we report as accurately as possible and empower the business to make the right decisions, it's also to motivate my team to add greater commercial value. Helping others to realise they are part of something far greater than just themselves is a powerful tool," he comments.
