Hisense SA lends helping hand this holiday season

As 2018 comes to a close, Hisense South Africa and the China-Africa Development Fund are providing some festive cheer to those in need, with a party for the orphans at the Leroteng Joy for One Foundation, in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg.

The kids are getting the chance to decorate a Christmas tree, enjoy watching a movie on a laser TV while munching on popcorn and slush, have a delicious lunch and meet Father Christmas, who will hand out gifts that include much-needed toiletries and underwear to each child. In attendance is Hisense South Africa's Managing Director, Jerry Liu, who will be saying a few words.

"Christmas is an exciting time for all children, and being able to make even a small difference in the lives of those at the Leroteng Joy for One Foundation will go a long way, especially since they have so little to look forward to this December," says Veenaa Katha, Marketing Project Manager at Hisense.

She explains the reason why the charity was chosen is due to it doing such great work for children in the township. "Peggy has been providing a home for abandoned and orphaned kids between the ages of two and 18 for almost 30 years, solely with the help of donations. More than that, she has been helping to improve the quality of life of each child by providing them with education, love and support."

"The Foundation's motto is 'to bring a smile to one child' and that is something we hope to achieve at our party," concludes Katha.
