Grove Group, a leading cloud service provider and enterprise mobility specialist in the UK, Africa and South Africa, has recently released a new enterprise mobile application development platform, referred to as the 'Grove Journey Platform'. Grove Group partnered with Embark Mobile in order to offer the Journey platform to its existing and future client base.
'Journey' is a cloud-based technology platform to build and run custom enterprise mobile applications.
Traditionally, building and deploying custom enterprise mobile apps has been expensive, slow and complex. Journey is intended for building enterprise mobile apps 10x faster and more efficiently for your workforce. It is ideal for allowing employees access to business processes on their mobile devices. Journey was designed from the ground up to be the fastest platform for building these kinds of apps. Examples include apps for incident reporting, inventory management, work approvals, project management, field services, customer sign-up and many other 'paper forms to mobile'.
Pip Witheridge, CEO, Grove Group, added: "We are delighted to have added a new product to our portfolio. Journey fits perfectly with our cloud-based solutions, and with the current tech trends and environment. A few successful events occurred in the UK and South Africa recently, and we believe we can offer our customers a unique opportunity for streamlining their business processes, decreasing costs, increasing revenue and enabling them to remain competitive as they embrace the tremendous opportunities of enterprise mobility."
Why Journey?
* Journey is a cloud-based mobile app business solution - there is no need for software installation or device connectivity set-up.
* It is a single integrated platform - your device is linked to an online App Editor, which allows for quick and easy building of Journey apps.
* The app back-end acts as your cloud data-store and allows for user management.
* Instant over-the-air deployment.
Grove's team has seen rapid adoption of this enterprise mobile development platform that quickly mobilises static and paper-based business processes. Early adoption has been seen particularly in the logistics, manufacturing and utility industries.
On-the-Dot, a division of Media24 and one of Grove's customers, was one of the first companies to adopt the Grove Journey Platform. In looking for options to effectively deal with route-optimisation operation struggles, which were both cost-effective and quick to deploy, On-the-Dot decided to integrate Journey Platform mobile apps as a key business solution. This solution was deployed on commodity Android smartphones, and has successfully resulted in driving down implementation and management costs, as well as allowing for more effective and efficient business operations. According to Tobie Vermeulen, Chief Technology Officer: "Journey is at the forefront of mobile app development."
Journey complements Grove's already existing cloud-based solutions such as Google's enterprise suite, cloud-based security products and services, and is a step forward for cloud-based computing and mobile app development.
