Granite WMS improves productivity and increases accuracy from the onset for ADT

Leading fire and security services company ADT (www.adt.co.za), that provides services in 35 countries across the globe, recently implemented Granite Warehouse Management (www.granitewms.com) from Cradle Technology Services (www.cradle.co.za) at its main office in Midrand, South Africa.

The case for the business change was to improve on a number of current challenges in this warehouse, including inventory accuracy and picking optimisation while at the same time eliminating redundant processes and adding labour and productivity tracking.

Cradle embarked on a consultation process which included:

* Analysis of as-is and to be operations.
* Stakeholder engagements and strategy alignment.
* Review and documentation of all errors and areas of improvements.
* A back-to-basics strategy to simplify processes and improve accuracy.

GraniteWMS was then fully implemented and staff trained over four months by a dedicated team of consultants committed to providing ongoing technical and human support.

Immediate benefits were recognised because:

* GraniteWMS proved to be easily integratable with the ERP systems already in place at ADT .
* GraniteWMS is BBBBEE certified.
* ADT did not have to undergo a lengthy registration process with the software Vendor (as typically encountered in new more costly system installations).

"Granite is the most cost-effective Warehouse Management System (WMS) investment. The effectiveness of the system as a true WMS will become apparent only after three to six months of transactions, however the increase in productivity and accuracy is apparent from the onset." - Peter Stassen, Former National Logistics Manager at ADT.

The concluding granite review

ADT anticipates at least a 15 % improvement in total warehouse productivity which in turn will drive overall operating costs down by at least 5%.

Granite was developed from the need for an easy-to-use yet powerful and scalable system that can deliver measurable results in terms of traceability, accuracy and efficiency. With barcoding at its core, it is simple to use and embraces scanning versus typing, which achieves greater user acceptance and satisfaction.

"Granite WMS is the ideal system for medium-sized businesses to manage their warehouses and to cater for their complex and specific stock and warehousing requirements." - Craig Collins, CEO and Project Director at Cradle Technology Services

Now with more than 85 implementations, including in the United States, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Sierra-Leone, Namibia and the United Kingdom, Granite WMS's is scalable, simple to use, easy to maintain and support. It provides granular trace-ability to SAGE's globally established ERP solutions - SAGE Evolution and SAGE 300 (formerly known as Accpac), or it can stand-alone.

Granite provides a functional fit giving you just what you need, is inexpensive and proven to deliver.
