GPC selects Comverse MMSC, MDG to enable wireless multimedia services

Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc and the world`s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced that GPC (VinaPhone), Vietnam`s largest mobile operator, has selected Comverse`s Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC) and Mobile Data Gateway (MDG) to provide expanded multimedia and video messaging services.

Hoang Trung Hai, Director of GPC (VinaPhone), said: "We chose Comverse MMSC to replace our legacy system because by deploying a powerful and versatile MMSC, we expect to increase our market leadership position. We are also pleased to expand our strong relationship with Comverse based on our previous experience with their SMS, voicemail and prepaid services."

Eitan Achlow, President of Comverse International, said: "Comverse`s MMSC and MDG successfully passed VinaPhone`s rigorous and competitive selection process, which included examining technical issues like performance, throughput, capacity and reliability. Today`s MMS services have new requirements like mass delivery of time-sensitive video content. Comverse`s messaging and data solutions help dynamic operators like VinaPhone to meet these challenging demands."

The Comverse MMS Solutions Suite

Comverse provides a complete suite of MMS solutions that are designed to boost traffic and operator revenues while providing a superior user experience.

Rules-based content adaptation capabilities provide broad MMS handset and legacy device support with a superior user experience.

Comverse MMS Exchange streamlines interconnectivity between operators by creating a central hub requiring only a single connection from each operator. The result is simplified implementation and maintenance of inter-operator MMS service, making possible the free flow of MMS messaging worldwide.

Comverse Messaging Application Centre is a complete solution for content aggregation and mass delivery of Application-to-Person (A2P) messages, enabling fast and easy launch of MMS content services and promotional campaigns. Equipped with an efficient high-capacity A2P MMS delivery engine, Comverse Messaging Application Centre is deployable independent of the incumbent MMSC.
