Challenge
Many of the largest companies in the world rely on Documentum. The company`s success with these business giants led to a strategic decision to make Documentum`s solutions available to smaller companies. This significant expansion of reach was dependent on a superior sales and marketing effort. The marketing organisation needed a better way to manage the influx of valuable lead and prospect information on a worldwide basis.
In a first move to streamline the process, Documentum initiated a project to provide a centralised datamart as a robust repository for the invaluable store of leads and contacts. Unify proposed the development of an application - an Executive Dashboard - for lead upload, lead list creation, e-mail campaign management, and reporting and analytics. The Documentum marketing department could access sales and lead information from any computer anywhere in the world via the Web.
For the sales staff, the existing system could be fed accurate and immediate data. By using Unify NXJ, the Executive Dashboard could be a reality in just weeks. NXJ integrated with current IT staff skills and existing systems.
An initial prototype required just one developer and was complete in four weeks. The production system was built by a business application developer, mentored by a Java programmer and was completed in five weeks.
