JSE-listed empowered ICT company GijimaAst will announce details of a R960 million outsourcing deal with Absa on Wednesday.

The deal will see GijimaAst redefine its relationship with the big-four bank.

CEO John Miller stresses the deal is not a renewal of the existing agreement with Absa, but rather a redefinition of that relationship. He says details of the deal will be made public on Wednesday.

Information already in the marketplace is the value of the five-year deal, and that it will see the 37%-empowered ICT firm offering a fully-managed desktop service for Absa and parent company Barclays` local operations from the end of this year.

GijimaAst is listed in the technology sector of the JSE and provides clients with service-delivery options in the infrastructure, solutions, system integration and networking arenas.

For the half-year ended December 2005, it reported revenue of R879 million and profit before tax of R25.7 million.

It counts among its clients almost 90% of the top 100 JSE-listed companies, including nine of SA`s leading corporations.
