International SOS has created a game as part of its 'Spot the Risk' campaign. The global medical and security services company created the game as part of its awareness drive, which focuses on testing travellers' knowledge and offering tips to ensure their health and safety.
The application has built-in emergency and assistance functionality, allowing for one-click dialling to the nearest International SOS assistance centre, as well as medical and travel guides for over 200 countries.
"The app delivers key medical and travel security information directly into the hands of business travellers and expatriates," said Kate Holden, SVP and group GM of information and tracking services at International SOS. The app serves to highlight the importance of extensive preparation when travelling, she adds.
Featuring a wide array of tips and advice, including the best type of water to buy and where one's hotel room should be in a building to maximise security, the game is available across all platforms and is tightly integrated with the International SOS infrastructure.
It takes the form of a series of 10 questions on health and safety best practice when travelling, and tailors its responses based on the user's selections.
"Spot the Risk was a great and technologically challenging project to be involved in. We... allowed users to play the game on all devices, so at home, work or even in the departure lounge, on their smartphones," said Chris Edwards, managing partner of Tommy, a company that helped create the campaign. He believes this multi-platform support is key to International SOS' goal of mitigating potential risk for its clients.
The 'Spot the Risk' game has been downloaded over 100 000 times.
