Gartner hosts new EMEA summit
Gartner will host a Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) annual Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit, says Verivox.
The inaugural conference will be co-located with the company's established Wireless & Mobile Summit 2008 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, from 23 to 24 April.
"The EMEA Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit builds on the success of the Enterprise Networking & Communications Summit already established in the US," said Alister Christopher, senior VP worldwide events at Gartner.
GigaFin adds feature
GigaFin Networks has introduced new bandwidth rate limiting capability to its network monitoring and traffic control products, according to PR Newswire.
The new software feature, which runs on GigaFin's SlimLine and FlowLine appliances, allows an administrator to control the maximum bandwidth used per client.
This feature allows the administrator to create tightly defined rules to control user behaviour or network traffic.
Networking here to stay
Lokesh Mehra, Cisco (South Asia) corporate responsibility regional manager, says networking is here to stay; it is not going to diminish and is going to keep on growing, reports Daily Mirror.
Addressing the media at the Cisco Media Offsite 2008, Mehra pointed out that networking around the world as well as in Sri Lanka is growing and that it is the fastest growing area in the economy.
When explaining the need for networking in Sri Lanka Mehra said: "With the eLanka project launch, it will need people to maintain, control and operate the network and also to meet the requirements of IT companies such as Virtusa."
