Government’s Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) and the French Embassy in SA are calling on early-stage local tech start-ups to submit proposals to participate in the Young Enterprise Initiative SA (YEI SA) programme.
Organised by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with Hello Tomorrow, the global YEI programme is an accelerator for young science-based companies interested in growing their business in France and Europe.
In terms of YEI SA, which is implemented by TIA and the French Embassy, the selected South African start-ups will have the opportunity to develop and grow their businesses in the French nation.
In addition, those selected will travel to France early next year to attend the 2020 Hello Tomorrow Global Summit and spend a further personalised week in France to meet with potential partners, connect with the best resources and set up business operations.
“In 2019/20, YEI South Africa will be implemented in parallel with similar programmes in the US, Canada, Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Singapore and Taiwan. The programme provides an opportunity for selected start-up companies and young enterprises to participate in an acceleration programme within the French ecosystem,” says a statement.
The closing date for applications is 22 November, and winners will be announced in December.
