ITWeb Security Summit has added another five leading international keynote speakers to the agenda for its 2019 event, to be held from 27 to 31 May at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Firstly, Charl van der Walt, chief strategy officer at SecureData SensePost, will present on: 'Examining the impact of people, processes, technology and regulation in combating cyber attacks: how much progress have we made?' Van der Walt is the original founder of SensePost, a pen testing company in SA and the UK, where he still sits on the board.

After SensePost was sold to SecureData, he took a diverse role within the group that includes leading its research unit, directing security strategy and leading the Security Intelligence Unit, which runs a significant managed SIEM and threat hunting (MDR) operation. He has spoken on a variety of occasions over the duration of his career, including at Black Hat, HITB, Defcon, NATA CCDCOE, BSides and 44Con.

Next on the agenda, Ofir Hason, CEO and co-founder of CyberGym, will discuss 'Israel's strategic response to the cyber threat'. Hason has over 15 years of experience in the development and characterisation of complex applications, products, and critical networks.

He served for more than seven years as a senior manager in Israel's National Information Security Authority (NISA/ISA). CyberGym is backed by Israel Electric, a government-owned utility that fends off millions of cyber threats every month. The training company's "white hat" hackers all have experience in the military or security agencies.

Perry Carpenter, chief evangelist and strategy officer for KnowBe4, the world's most popular security awareness and simulated phishing platform, will talk about 'Levers of human deception: the science and methodology behind social engineering'. Carpenter has led security awareness, security culture management and anti-phishing behaviour management research at Gartner Research, in addition to covering areas of IAM strategy, CISO programme management mentoring and technology service provider success strategies.

Also new to the agenda, Shira Rubinoff, a recognised cyber security executive, advisor, speaker and influencer, will present: 'How to create proper cyber hygiene within your organisation, and why doing so is critical across all industries'.

Rubinoff has built two cyber security product companies and led multiple women-in-technology efforts. She currently serves as president of social media security firm, SecureMySocial, and is president of NYC Tech Incubator, Prime Tech Partners, as well as on the Boards of the Executive Women's Forum for Information Security, Leading Women in Technology, blockchain company Mainframe and AI company TrueConnect.

She has been named one of New Jersey's Best 50 Women in Business, was named by CSO Magazine as a Woman of Influence and was honoured by CSO and the EWF with its "One to Watch". Most recently, she was honoured as an "Outstanding Woman in Infosec" by the CyberHub Summit.

Finally, TK Keanini, distinguished engineer for Cisco's Security Business Group, will present a keynote: 'The future of security analytics: from static lists to machine learning'. Keanini has over 25 years of network and security experience, and has built a unified security architecture that enables customers to adapt and respond to ever-evolving threats.

In 2017, Keanini and team were awarded the prestigious Cisco Pioneer Award, recognising their innovative work on encrypted traffic analytics. Prior to joining Cisco, he served as CTO for Lancope, where he and his team built the award-winning Stealthwatch product line. Before Lancope, he held the role of CTO at nCircle, driving product innovation that defined the vulnerability management and configuration compliance market.

Keanini is also a founding member of many security standards such as CVE and remains active in standards bodies that promote multi-vendor interoperability. He is a frequent speaker at industry forums, such as the RSA Conference, SANS Network Security, Security B-Sides, GFIRST and Cisco Live.

"Keanini, Carpenter, Van der Walt, Rubinoff and Hason are among the world's most notable experts in cyber security. We are thrilled to have them on board, sharing their vast experience and knowledge, and helping delegates navigate the murky waters of today's evolving threat landscape," concludes Angela Mace, CRM and events director of ITWeb.
