Client satisfaction is a key priority at Absa, one of South Africa`s leading financial institutions. It uses a wide range of documents to communicate with customers about their dealings with the organisation.
Earlier this year, Absa`s Group IT: Output Processing division situated in Absa Towers in Johannesburg realised that its 10-year-old Oc`e PageStream 350 needed replacing. The printer had printed an impressive 73 112 kilometres of paper in its lifetime - that`s nearly twice the Earth`s circumference!
After extensive research into the offerings of various vendors by a specially established committee, the tender was awarded to Oc'e South Africa. The committee took into consideration speed, functionality, quality, upgradeability and, naturally, price. The end result - Absa installed a productive new Oc'e VarioStream 7450 printer that saves on both printed stocks and staff time, while at the same time enhancing customer interaction.
Absa generates huge quantities of printed material, of particular importance being client statements for items such as credit cards, cheques, personal loans, mortgage loans and AVAF.
Reuben Radcliff of Absa`s Group IT: Business Engagement division, says: "Today`s customers expect so much more from their bank. Customised, low-cost, 24/7 services, personal relationships with providers. Above all, they expect to be kept informed, which means you must access and distribute information more effectively than ever. The truth is, customers perceive your service-quality level based, in part, on how effectively, responsively and accurately you produce communication.
"The Oc`e VarioStream 7450 will enable Absa to meet the tightest production schedules to produce even the most complex and variable documents with the highest quality and reliability. The flexible and adaptable Web-fed printing system also has the option to upgrade easily if customer demand requires it."
