Falling in love with robots is the new normal

By FutureWorld
Johannesburg, 14 Feb 2016

It's that time of the year again, 14 February 2026 and so much love is in the air! Spending time with that special someone who knows you better than you know yourself; celebrating intimate experiences and picturing your future together. This year will be extra special since that someone is a cyberbot with artificial intelligence; connected to your social media profiles that reveal all your likes, dislikes, favourite restaurants you've checked into, and even the holiday destinations of friends you wish you could be with.

While it may seem absurd that you could fall in love with a 'non-human', love is simply a concoction of Dopamine, Adrenaline and Serotonin that can be activated by the lights in your Ultraband connected home and the abundant high-frequency waves that surround you.

And spending a lifetime together? As we approach the 'singularity' (when human consciousness can be uploaded into a computer) we could live on forever with our non-human partners. Perhaps, human love in a 'singularity life' will become the taboo in a world run by machines!
