eSecure Distribution, the distributor of appliance-based security solutions, today announced a partnership agreement with F5 Networks, the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN). The agreement sees F5 appoint eSecure as a value added distributor of F5 products and services in South Africa.
Regular analyst recognition and a consistent leadership position in independent reports have been critical to F5's success in the local market. F5 Networks was recently placed in the Leaders' Quadrant of the 2010 Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers from Gartner. Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs), published 13 November 2010 by Mark Fabbi and Joe Skorupa, evaluates 13 vendors in the ADC market space based on completeness of vision and ability to execute.
John Hindley, General Manager of eSecure Distribution, says: “South African technology buyers rely heavily on international analysts to offer guidance on which products or vendors to select. We believe placement in the Leaders' Quadrant in Magic Quadrants or equivalents from other international analysts is seen by the local market as favourable, which in turn helps technology uptake.”
As well as F5's ADN products and technologies, eSecure also markets WAN optimisation and SaaS e-mail security offerings. “The addition of F5 to our ecosystem means that we can now support our partners with complete solutions aimed at securing and optimising applications across the network,” says Hindley.
Discussing the changing channel landscape in South Africa, Andy Travers, Regional Sales Director, UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa at F5 Networks, says: “Emerging markets will be a key focus for F5 in the coming years, and South Africa is an important entry point to the African continent. eSecure's appointment as a distributor is a significant step for F5 as we look to build robust channels. The next step for us is to bolster our local support network with strong value-added reseller partners.”
