Accounting and business management software solutions specialist Lorge has been contracted by pharmaceutical, dental medical devices supplier Equity Pharmaceutical Holdings Group to service, support, maintain and expand its operations running on Sage ERP X3 software.
A fast-growing organisation headquartered in Irene, near Pretoria, the Equity Group of companies has expanded its business substantially in recent years, extending its presence beyond South Africa into neighbouring SADC countries and into Australia and New Zealand.
Martin van Blerk, head of Lorge's Sage ERP X3 division, which was awarded Best Achiever for Sage ERP X3, said the solution offers the Equity Group a full suite of stock, distribution and accounting functions to fully support distribution operations, warehousing and the complex logistics that drive the business.
“The needs of the Equity Group can only be met by an ERP accounting software that has strong functionality and features relating to supply, storage and distribution backed by reliable software services. A fundamental need is to ensure management has immediate and ongoing access to critical business information,” added Van Blerk.
The Equity Group is now fully empowered to use the system and extract from it information and data that streamlines daily tasks such as sales, procurement, quality control and financials.
One of the big advantages of Sage ERP X3, according to Van Blerk, is the ability to accurately trace lot numbers from receipts to quality control and to dispatch, as well as managing batch expiry dates. “In the pharmaceutical industry, it is absolutely imperative that the system delivers accurate and up-to-date information.”
Lorge has assisted the Equity Group to invest in and build on the functionality that Sage ERP X3 offers. For an expanding business, creating a new company is easy and effective in Sage. Van Blerk said the system currently caters for Equity Pharmaceuticals, Equity Dental, Novagen Pharma, Equity Medical Technologies and Homemed, and will soon be implemented for Equity Australia. The Sage ERP X3 software is also geared to accommodating group expansion into neighbouring SADC countries, Australia and New Zealand.
