Cape Town-based Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) has introduced Entrepreneur Bootcamp, an initiative offering nine free online courses to aspiring entrepreneurs.

EO is a membership-based global organisation of over 8 000 successful business owners.

The initiative was born from the collaboration between EO and its members, and aims at offering potential entrepreneurs the opportunity to gather skills of both an academic and a practical nature.

The courses offered are: Introduction to Business, Identifying Opportunities, The Legal Environment, Business Planning, Financing Decisions, Financial Planning, Human Resources, Effective Marketing, and Management and Growth.

According to the organisation, enrolment is 100% free, and students who complete all nine courses will receive a certificate of completion from EO.

Dayne Falkenberg, president of EO's Cape Town chapter, says: "EO Bootcamp is an entrepreneurial give-back initiative that is designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. There are over 90 video interviews with some of SA's leading entrepreneurs, and we have combined them with relevant textbook content and engaging interactive quizzes, making these courses perfect learning tools for people who want to become better entrepreneurs."

He says the initiative was made possible by online education company GetSmarter and sponsorship from Van Schaik Publishers.

Mentorship opportunities

In addition, EO says 10 candidates who complete the Bootcamp will be offered mentorships with EO members, who include representatives from Cape Town brands such as Col'Cacchio, Clevva, Digicape, V&A Waterfront Organic Market, Colourworks, and Adventure Bootcamp, among others.
