To enable the growth of its online business model and promote operational efficiency, Virtual Documents Propriety Limited selected Entrust, Inc [NASDAQ: ENTU] and the Entrust IdentityGuard versatile authentication platform.
The solution provides the South African-based organisation with strong authentication for customer access to its online information repository, branded "LOC Your DOC".

Entrust IdentityGuard, a component of Entrust's layered security model, enables Virtual Documents customers to verify their identities via strong authentication for access to "LOC Your DOC" system. The service is a Web-based tool that allows individuals and companies to store and access authenticated records in a secure online environment.
"Virtual Documents sought a solution that would solve a specific business challenge - implementing strong authentication for online access - and would serve as a catalyst to enable the increase of revenue and operational efficiencies," said Entrust Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Conner. "A component of Entrust's trusted layered security model, this solution provides Virtual Documents' customers a secure, easy-to-use method to access their sensitive information online."
Virtual Documents purchased an Entrust IdentityGuard licence for 10 000 users as well as 2 000 Entrust IdentityGuard one-time passcode (OTP) hardware tokens. The organisation chose L@Wtrust for its reputation of strong, continued service and the integrity of the solutions and support staff.
The solution can also be used to help address various privacy standards such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
