EMC country manager Inana Nkanza passed away yesterday after a short illness.
“With great sadness we bring you the news that Inana Nkanza, country manager of EMC Southern Africa, passed away in the early hours of 26 July following a short illness,” says president of global sales and customer operations Bill Scannell.
The company says Nkanza was an extraordinary leader who inspired all of those around him and encouraged them to achieve their dreams and reach their ultimate potential.
“The EMC team has been privileged to know Inana and to work with him. In his time with us, we came to know an extraordinary man and leader. We will miss him greatly, as a friend and a colleague. Our collective thoughts and prayers are with Inana's family in their time of loss and mourning,” adds Scannell.

Nkanza held positions of leadership on some of the world's and South Africa's most successful and influential high-technology companies.
He helped steer the likes of Sun Microsystems, Computer Associates, Software Futures, CCH and MGX.
At EMC, Nkanza was tasked with broadening the company's market share in South Africa, and creating local appreciation of EMC's expansion outside of the storage market into new areas that include security, cloud computing and managing the value that enterprise gets from information.
Nkanza was appointed EMC country manager in April 2010 after Gerhard van der Merwe resigned.
