EDS, in collaboration with Microsoft, Compaq and Intel, announced at Comdex Chicago 2001 that it is adding a Microsoft-based enhanced high-availability Web hosting service to its current offering.

The solution features Microsoft`s server operating system Windows 2000 Datacenter Server combined with Intel-based Compaq servers.

"Clients have the power to choose the solution that best fits their needs and add services without the complexities involved with managing multiple vendors," says Dennis Law, global service line VP for Web hosting at EDS.

Managed high availability Web hosting services measure the percent of time that a Web site is operational, provides connectivity, monitoring, management, scalability, security, support and technical expertise required for mission-critical Web operations.
