Siltek Telecoms, a specialist telecommunications distributor, has announced availability of Dialogic's Linux application development kit.
Michael Aitken, managing director of Siltek Telecoms, says, "With platform support for this mainstream operating system, Dialogic enables the Linux developer community to create robust voice-based Internet and e-Commerce applications like voice portals, multimedia messaging and Web-enabled contact centres."
"Developers," he continues, "will enjoy the broadest range of hardware components that can be used globally to build a variety of applications working with the same Dialogic API already used by thousands of developers. Additionally, the Dialogic Linux release supports a range of communication products from basic two and four port analogue voice processing boards to high-density multi-span T1/E1 cards, as well as enhanced functionality for speech processing and conferencing."
"In broadening our operating system offerings to include Linux, we provide our customers with the ability to use one of the most reliable and cost-effective operating systems available today," adds Art Herzog, product marketing manager for Dialogic. "Those customers that choose to migrate their Dialogic-based telephony applications to Linux will find that the process is made very easy since we provide the same reliable development environment and product support customers are already used to."
The Dialogic System Release for Linux can be downloaded free of charge from the Dialogic support web site at http://support.dialogic.com.
Dialogic will continue to expand its Linux-based offering with support for DM3-based products like the DM3 QuadSpan and DM3 IPLink. This will allow developers to scale their applications to new heights and leverage the world of Internet Protocol (IP) telephony.
