Deloitte & Touche has announced that it will partner with GoldMine Software Corporation on its customer relationship management (CRM) offering. As a first stage of what may become a global deal, Deloitte & Touche SA has entered into a solution partnership with GoldMine Software Corporation SA, a subsidiary of the JSE-listed Ixchange group, which will see the professional services firm offer GoldMine`s award-winning Front Office 2000 suite of products to its customers as part of a total CRM offering.
The agreement, concluded in July 2000, saw Deloitte & Touche acquiring the GoldMine CRM consulting and implementation arm of one of GoldMine`s existing leading solution partners, Consultants in Computer Applications (CICA)."We responded to an identified CRM need in the middle market," says Louis Geeringh, strategic business development director of Deloitte & Touche. "GoldMine Front Office is a world class product, with an incredible number of value-adding functionalities which will complement our existing technology offering and client base."
The partnership is currently in a pilot test phase. If successful, Deloitte & Touche SA intends to present it to other countries, which could see a worldwide solution relationship between Deloitte & Touche and GoldMine emerge. "According to the Aberdeen Group (September 1999) the worldwide CRM software market is expected to grow from $1,3 billion in 1998 to $5,1 billion in 2002," says Stephen Buchalter, GoldMine SA channel account manager. "This is a market with huge potential and GoldMine`s partnership with Deloitte & Touche will enable it further to entrench its dominant position in the mid-market sector.
"This undertaking is unique in the CRM market," Buchalter continues. "For the first time all the various links in the CRM offering are joined together. The origination arm, GoldMine Software Corporation SA, is now joined with the implementation arm of CICA and further complemented by the business consulting expertise of Deloitte &Touche. Added to this is Deloitte & Touche`s existing customer base - all in all, a recipe for success. "CICA managing director Andre Pieterse points out that "the skills behind the implementation of the solutions are just as important as the application itself. If any one of the components is weak, the process will fail. We regard it as a huge compliment that Deloitte & Touche has seen fit to include our consulting arm as part of their technology offering."
