Dell recently announced the availability of Dell MediaDirect, featuring Instant Office as a standard feature on all Inspiron notebooks in EMEA.
This software, exclusive to Dell, gives customers instant, one-button access to multimedia and office applications without having to start Microsoft Windows.
Dell MediaDirect puts videos, music and photos at fingertips - in addition to office tools such as calendars, contacts and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
With the computer off, one press of the MediaDirect button will allow users to quickly play videos, music or photo slide-shows stored on the hard drive, optical drive, a USB key or from the integrated media card reader, without starting Windows.
Dell's competitors' "instant on" solutions do not provide this level of "instant office" functionality, flexibility and ease of usability.
