Datatec's management is confident the company will deliver revenue of over $4 billion (R27 billion) when it completes its current financial year next month.

In its 2007 financial year, the company produced revenue of $3.2 billion. At its interim results, the company had secured revenue of $1.92 billion.

This morning, Datatec released its first interim management statement to shareholders in SA and the UK. The London Stock Exchange requires all companies that are fully listed on its bourse to issue such statements twice a year. The company's board decided to issue the statement despite its LSE listing being secondary.

"Trading in the first four months of the second half of the financial year has been much stronger than the first half. [Logicalis] has seen significant improvements in performance as a consequence of the restructuring undertaken in the US, in August 2007. The group is on course to produce a strong second-half performance and full-year results in line with expectations," it said.

Group revenue and profitability for the 10 months to 31 December 2007 indicate all divisions are positioned to deliver full year-on-year growth, Datatec added.

Continuing demand for its products and services, wider geographic reach and an "improved product mix", together with growth in services, also improved both gross and operating margins, it revealed.

The company is expected to publish its annual results for the year ended 28 February on 14 May.
