Locally-listed international ICT company Datatec has appointed Ivan Dittrich as group financial director. The move follows the resignation of David Pfaff after six years of service.
This morning, Datatec said Pfaff was leaving to pursue "new investment opportunities" and would remain a board member until the end of May. Dittrich joins the board as of the beginning of March and assumes the full role on 1 May.
The overlap has been orchestrated to ensure a smooth handover, said Datatec.
Dittrich (35) has held a number of roles within Datatec since his entry nine years ago. Most recently, he was group corporate director, reporting to CE Jens Montana, responsible for the company's corporate head office functions and mergers and acquisitions in emerging markets.
Prior to that, he was group company secretary for five years, as well as corporate finance manager.
Datatec chairman Leslie Boyd commented: "[Pfaff] has made a very valuable contribution over the last six years and has been closely involved with the group's growth and development around the world, including our dual listing in London in 2006. We are sorry that he is leaving, but wish him well in his plans to pursue new investment opportunities particularly in Africa."
