Data Robotics clinches SME deal

The key to success in the SME market is the channel and Data Robotics just landed one of the biggest channel partners it could hope for, reports Enterprise Storage.

The company revealed that HP is now selling the Drobo line of SME storage systems, including the new Drobo S.

First, the new product. The Drobo S features USB 3.0 connectivity with support for multiple storage volumes and up to 32TB of storage capacity. The Drobo S utilises Drobo's BeyondRaid technology, which is said to allow for non-disruptive capacity expansion through the addition of new drive technologies.

SMEs optimistic for the future

AVG recently partnered with GfK to undertake an international survey among SMEs, writes Business Solutions.

The results identified that SMEs are optimistic for the future as they emerge from a difficult economic period. SMEs are increasingly relying on technology to overcome the challenges of the recession and recognise the importance of protecting this technology from outside threats.

However, many are unaware of the range of IT security threats and require expertise to help them secure success.

Fuji Xerox eyes SME market

Fuji Xerox Printer Channel aims to climb to the top spot of the printing trade through a line of products with new technology and design that appeals to underserved market segments such as women and home users, notes Inquirer.

Fuji Xerox currently ranks third in the printing industry. The company has observed a shifting trend by small and medium business and home users from purchasing inkjet printers to laser printers with higher printing speeds and lower cost of ownership, said Vincent Sim, general manager of Fuji Xerox Printer Channel for Asean.

IDC, in its first semester Printer Tracker Report, noted a 29% increase in the sale of single-function laser printers in the Philippines from that of last year.
