Damgaard, an integrated solutions provider, launched the new version of its enterprise resource planning product, Axapta, at IBM`s Sandton offices yesterday.

Speaking on the strategy behind version 2.0, Damgaard account manager for the UK and SA, Julian Jackson, said: "The two most important things you must take with you when you leave this launch are the importance of Internet-enablement and adaptability without locking out support."

Jackson added that these two areas are elements of the new paradigm shift occurring at Damgaard. "These shifts occur on average every five to seven years when the company makes the strategic decision to shift its paradigms around new technologies."

It was with these two areas in mind that Axapta released the new version. "Axapta features Internet-enabling technologies that are fully scalable to grow with a company," noted Jackson.

"Additionally, the suite is designed to be fully customisable according to a company`s specific needs. This customisation goes hand-in-hand with a full support system set-up by Damgaard."

The Axapta series covers finance, supply chain management, customer relationships, logistics, project management and manufacturing which can be accessed via the Internet, third-party products or custom-built applications.
