Courts turn to video-conferencing

Overworked courts are using video-conferencing for arraignments instead of transferring inmates back and forth, according to PR USA.

Audiovisual firm McCann Systems introduced the technology to local courts and correctional facilities.

The mandate was initiated so New Jersey townships could take advantage of the cost savings and efficiencies of video-conferencing between New Jersey's courtrooms and correction facilities.

Projectiondesign appoints manager

Gerben van den Berg has joined Norwegian projector manufacturer, projectiondesign as sales manager for Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, says Broadcastbuyer.

The move follows the promotion of David Aleksandersen, former sales manager for Netherlands, as he focuses on running the company's Certified Product Specialist training programme worldwide.

Van den Berg previously has held several senior sales and marketing positions at audiovisual distributor Heuvelman Sound & Vision and D-reizen, as well as security and visual communications systems integrator, IP Group. His experience spans virtually every aspect of audiovisual and display installation.

Palazzo selects Videoplus

Palazzo Versace, the Gold Coast hotel and resort, has appointed Videoplus as its new in-house audiovisual technical services provider, states ETBMICE.

Videoplus' preparations to replace the incumbent audiovisual systems in time for its three-year initial tenure commencing in October are well under way.

Palazzo Versace GM Sandra Tikal says: "Videoplus stood out because of its commitment to providing the venue with a quality product, and always ensuring our customers' needs are the first priority."
