Cordys, a leading provider of software for business process innovation, today announced that Fujitsu has selected Cordys to offer platform as a service (PaaS) capabilities in conjunction with Fujitsu's Global Cloud Platform.
The Cordys Business Operations Platform and Process Factory will enable Fujitsu to offer an integration platform to its customers and independent software vendors (ISVs) on Fujitsu's innovative global cloud platform.
“Fujitsu is strategically investing in cloud computing, and with the ambition of becoming the leading provider of infrastructure as a service and platform as a service offerings,” says Chiseki Sagawa, President of the Platform Strategy Planning Unit at Fujitsu. “Cordys technology will help us add value to our PaaS offerings, and will fulfil the needs of our customers for value-added services beyond the level of infrastructure.”
Cordys and Fujitsu have entered into a strategic partnership agreement, where Fujitsu will have the right to sell and distribute the Cordys products, both via Fujitsu's cloud data centres, as well as for on-premise deployment to support hybrid scenarios connecting on-premise IT assets to the cloud.
Jan Baan, Chairman of the Board and founder of Cordys, stated: “We are delighted that Fujitsu has chosen Cordys to strengthen their cloud proposition. We feel honoured by the fact that the third-largest global IT company has selected our platform as an OEM component in such a strategic programme and service offering. We look forward to intense collaboration to create a successful proposition for Fujitsu's customers.”
Fujitsu's platform as a service offering based on Cordys will be launched later this year, and will be rolled out from six cloud data centres across the globe.
Fujitsu appeared at Cordys' event: 'Cordial 2011', from 13 to 15 September, as a Platinum Sponsor.
