SPI, the African distributor for utility software products and services to the Open Systems segment of the IT industry, today announced that Compact Computer Solutions (CCS), a provider of IT business solutions, had successfully installed COSprint as a spool management system.
“We needed an alternative spool management system for one of our major clients as the inherent product didn't satisfy their requirements,” commented Charmainne Kidd, Managing Director of CCS. “The need was for a solution that would not duplicate jobs and would, when the network is congested, retain and/or restart all print jobs when the system is restored to normal operations.
“In addition, they also needed a solution that would have a user-friendly GUI and one that would allow for connection via remote access,” continued Kidd. “We were recommended to use the COSprint product that is available via SPI, as this would satisfy these issues, as well as handling the larger print volumes we anticipate going forward.
“The solution did meet all our requirements and has been successfully implemented. SPI, the distributor for the COSprint product in Africa, was very responsive and provided us with excellent service,” concluded Kidd.
Compact Computer Solutions, a South African privately owned company established over 20 years ago, delivers end-to-end business solutions that include ERP, CRM, hardware and software, Virtual Postman, SharePoint, disaster management infrastructure, implementation, service and support.
COSprint, from US-based Help/Systems, is an advanced output management and print spooling package used by IT enterprises with an IT infrastructure incorporating UNIX/Linux or Microsoft servers.
