Commvault has announced a new partner-first strategy at its second annual Connections Live event in Johannesburg last week.

Called ‘Partner Advantage’, the programme offers four partner tracks: Distributor, Solution Provider, Global System Integrator and Alliances and Service Provider.

Commvault is a global enterprise software leader in the management of data for cloud and on-premises environments.

Newly appointed South Africa country head, Johan Scheepers,  said the new programme was based on feedback from the company's partners and customer and aims to make it easier and more profitable for partners to do business with Commvault.

The enhancements announced last week centre on its Distributor and Solution Provider partners and are available now. Enhancements to Global System Integrator and Alliances and Service Provider tracks will be unveiled later this year.

According to Commvault, partners now have access to more rebates at higher percentages, a more lucrative and flexible year-end bonus program, additional business development fund investments, and improved deal registration benefits.

The enhancements to this program enable a typical Commvault MarketBuilder partner the potential to earn an average 2.5 times pay out increase on a year-over-year basis. A typical distribution partner that helps secure new customer business and achieve repeat business or multiple transactions over the course of the partner year can earn an average 1.65 times pay out increase year over year.

In addition, Commvault said it has improved its partner experience with easier access to training, sales enablement, marketing materials and real-time support. Programme tier progression simplified quoting and easier deal registration and deal protection have also been introduced.

Also highlighted at the Connections Live event was how, through using Commvault’s Command Centre software as well as Activating Data, companies are able to manage their data more efficiently in the cloud.

Arno Van Der Sijde, EMEA senior business development leader of Hyperscale at Commvault, said 80% of the data in 2022 will be sited on hyperscale platforms. "Companies need to be true multi-hybrid, able to support both cloud-native and non-native apps with a hyperscale based solution,” he said.

Your data is your friend

Pieter Vercammen, team lead, Enterprise Solution Group at Commvault, based in Brussels, spoke about getting to know the data.

“Your data is your friend so get to know it and explore the value within it. Once you do that, you start using the data for intelligent decision making in reducing costs, improving your economics and increasing the ability to make a difference for compliance within your organisation.

"The details are in the data and if you are not able to understand what is there and what risk you are exposed to, then you are hindering growth within your business. So act on what your data tells you.”
