Cloud security tops RSA agenda
The security of cloud computing remains a top concern, according to delegates at this year's RSA security conference in San Francisco, says Computing.
Security vendors report that they are still struggling to convince enterprises to trust their technology.
Much of last year's event also focused on cloud security, with enterprises arguing that they would move non-mission-critical processes to the cloud while sensitive data and processes would be kept on-premise.
Open source sought for EHRs
The Veterans Affairs Department in Washington is looking for expert help in developing an open source software model for modernisation of its long-standing Veterans Health Information and Systems and Technology Architecture, or Vista, electronic health records (EHR) system, writes Washington Technology.
The department published a solicitation on 26 January for technical services for the Vista Open Source Custodial Foundation Acquisition, along with a Statement of Work for the program.
The Vista suite of applications in use supports more than 150 VA hospitals and 887 ambulatory care facilities. The current system has been developed and used over several decades.
E-data company wins innovation award
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) in India has won at the national awards for e-governance in the category 'Innovative use of technology in e-governance', states the Times of India.
The electronic data processing department of RMC has developed various in-house projects based on e-governance for effective delivery of services to it citizens. It has also developed 'm-governance', an efficient way to meet citizens' expectation through SMS services.
Earlier, RMC had won Manthan Award South Asia-2010 in e-governance category for 'Mobile-governance - An Efficient Way to Meet Citizens' Expectation'.
