Mobicel, South Africa's largest importer and dealer of affordable, feature-packed phones, has chosen the Server On Demand Virtual Data Centre solution from Cloud On Demand to power its instant messaging and e-mail platforms.
Mo Chat is a free instant messaging service preloaded on all Mobicel phones. Mo Chat allows users to send and receive messages, exchange pictures, and send audio files and smileys more affordably. Mo Email provides an e-mail service that allows for the sending and receiving of mails using a Mobicel handset.
One of the biggest challenges faced by Mobicel was finding a cloud provider that offered an enterprise-class service that provided the performance and control of having an onsite server solution.
