Cloud HR needs understanding

Businesses using cloud computing as part of their HR software packages need to get to grips with security, it has been warned, writes Sage.

Industry body ThinkGrid, which provides business IT on demand to organisations all over the world, has asserted that too many enterprises are engaging in innovative cloud use without considering the security implications of doing so.

Chief executive officer Rob Lovell pointed out that safety concerns are major for most organisations, yet many do not seem to grasp how these may connect with cloud computing.

Historic Scotland outsources HR

Historic Scotland has signed a five-year contract with NorthgateArinso for a combination of systems and outsourcing services, says Employee Benefits.

The Scottish Government agency responsible for Scotland's historic environment will adopt NorthgateArinso's ResourceLink Aurora system including the HR self-service modules, from an anticipated implementation date of March 2011.

The system will also include an interface with Historic Scotland's pensions system aiming to enhance efficiency.

Payroll Solutions selects Soffront

Payroll Solutions, which provides customers with payroll, time, attendance and HR software, services and support has selected Soffront CRM to improve efficiency in all aspects of their business, states TMC Net.

Payroll Solutions will implement Soffront's hosted CRM software in January 2011. Soffront has over 18 years of experience of delivering CRM solutions to small-to-medium companies.

“We needed a better way to efficiently manage our business and provide improved customer service in all areas; sales, support, technology, operations, projects, and administration,” says David Lewis, co-founder, executive vice-president and chief operating officer in a statement.
