City Lodge, one of South Africa's leading hospitality operations, has employed Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office and Enterprise communications infrastructure from Bytes Connect, in support of better customer service, smoother operations, and a standardised solution.
City Lodge opened its 50th hotel in August 2010, has improved its BEE rating from level 4 to level 3 and maintains a strong focus on ensuring peak customer service throughout its chain.
“The move to Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office and Enterprise allows City Lodge to connect its property management system seamlessly to its voice systems, allowing guests to book in and out with ease. The installed voice systems future-proof the chain for the next decade, as you can add IP telephony at any time,” says Danie van der Westhuizen, account manager at Bytes Connect.
City Lodge will connect customers' names with their rooms so when customers call the front desk, employees will be able to see immediately who is calling and have access to all the other information about that customer. When guests use the phones in their rooms, the system is tightly integrated with the billing system, which improves checkout service.
Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX platform forms the basis of migrating to IP communications. Incorporating the latest technologies (Linux, XML, SIP), it is based on open standards, provides a pure software communication management platform, and offers:
* High reliability;
* Scalability;
* Architectural flexibility;
* Simplified management; and
* Intelligent networking.
Bytes Communication Systems has access to Alcatel-Lucent's complete range of business communications solutions. This includes PABX equipment, mobile communication solutions, call centre solutions, structured cabling solutions, voice-over data solutions, LAN/WAN data solutions, and a comprehensive range of after-sales service, none of which is outsourced to a third party, ensuring a single point of contact through a highly advanced 7x24x365 national contact centre.
