Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organisations, today announced that Chandling International, one of Africa's oldest and largest ship chandlers in South Africa, has selected the Epicor next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The solution will be implemented by Epicor authorised partner, New Era Solutions.
Operating in South Africa's principal ports of Durban, Cape Town and Richards Bay, Chandling International has a reputation for reliability, professionalism and service, which is at the core of their business. Their wealth of experience and comprehensive service offering have made Chandling International the preferred choice for shipping lines for over 30 years.
"After a thorough investigation, it was obvious that we needed something that is more than just a number cruncher? Adding numbers is simple, we needed a management tool," said John Laister, managing director for Chandling International. "Epicor ERP became the clear choice because of its versatile offering, which could not be matched by any of its competitors. The system integrates transactions from all areas of our business, and data only needs to be input once, which represents a massive time saving. Management can then draw business intelligence data to manage every aspect of the business. This ensures efficiency, accountability, productivity and assists with streamlining our operations."
The implementation will be done by New Era Solutions, an Epicor value-added reseller for over 10 years, specialising in integrated and customisable IT solutions, in partnership with global specialists in ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), customer relationship management (CRM) and mobility, offering a single-source solution.
"With Chandling International's rich history and impeccable track record, it was essential that they select an ERP system that would support their business objectives and work to take their operations to new levels," said Aminah Khoza, channel manager for Epicor in Africa. "The automation of processes and the accessibility of real-time business intelligence data with the click of a mouse represent a significant move towards the optimisation of operations and strategic growth."
