Centravoice, a member of the Centratel group of companies, has concluded a partnership agreement with Alcatel-Lucent that will enable the organisation to offer the complete range of Alcatel-Lucent's data portfolio as well as a select range of its voice products.
The Centratel Group is the largest telecommunications distributor in Africa, while Alcatel-Lucent provides solutions enabling service providers, enterprises and governments worldwide, to deliver voice, data and video communication services to end-users.
This new alliance will enable Centravoice to grow its own reseller channel that previously only comprised voice resellers. With this new alliance, Centravoice will now be able to target an entire new data reseller market.
With the Alcatel-Lucent inclusion of the Omni PCX Office (OXO) and Omni PCX Enterprise (OXE) voice range of products, Centratel will also be able to expand its existing reseller channel.
"The reason for this partnership was logical and is part of our entire convergence strategy," said Michael Aitken, group managing director of Centratel.
"We were looking for a product offering that incorporated data within its portfolio and Alcatel-Lucent required a partner with strong distribution abilities. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent is a world leader in its field and its leading-edge technology and brand awareness made this not only an easy, but an obvious choice for us," said Aitken.
"We believe Centravoice will bring a wealth of experience to our distribution model and expose us to a large customer base, thus increasing our market share of both the enterprise voice and data markets," said Eddie McAlone, general manager of enterprise and verticals, Alcatel Lucent South and East Africa.
McAlone said Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is at the very forefront of the convergence wave with innovative, cost-effective solutions for all enterprise requirements.
"With Centravoice playing a leading role in our go to market strategy, we believe we have a winning formula," continued McAlone.
Centravoice has employed a product manager whose responsibility will be to create a new division to solely manage the volume of business generated by these products.
"We anticipate this to be significant," concluded Aitken.
