Local IT consumables supply company, Cartridge.co.za, has recently been awarded `IPG Connect Partner` status by IT giant, HP. This prestige partnership status ensures Cartridge.co.za can now take full advantage of all the benefits available to IPG partners and in turn pass these benefits directly to its ever-growing customer base.
"We are extremely excited about this achievement, particularly because we have managed to achieve it in a relatively short period of time," commented Mario Sequeira, Operations Director at Cartridge.co.za. "Having opened our virtual doors for e-business in July 2001, we had positioned ourselves to be in the forefront of e-based transactions when it came to the ink and toner industry.
"However, we soon realised that the South African consumer was taking a far more conservative approach to purchasing over the Internet, compared to their European and American counterparts, which meant that we had to look at a more conventional business model to complement and support our e-commerce efforts.
"Fortunately, an upswing in e-business during 2003, together with the creation of innovative in-house value-added solutions for the corporate sector, has resulted in Cartridge.co.za reaping the benefits of being one of the early leaders in this arena."
In just over two years, Cartridge.co.za has become one of SA`s fastest growing `original` consumable resellers, in spite of the growing number of consumers leaning towards the use of refilled cartridges.
"The demand for refilled or remanufactured cartridges is ever-increasing, and we therefore have to also cater for that consumer, but due to the recent strengthening of the rand, the price gap between the two has narrowed, and it has become affordable once again to purchase original cartridges. This is good news for the local consumer because for the last couple of years, many consumers had no choice but to buy refilled units due to the unaffordable prices of new," says Jason Browne, Sales Director for Cartridge.co.za.
"Today, our consumers can enjoy the peace of mind associated with either buying original cartridges without busting their bank balance, or refills from reliable remanufactures, but at least they don`t need to resort to the low quality, unreliable refills that flooded the market in recent years."
In addition to its new partnership with HP, Cartridge.co.za has also implemented genuine black economic empowerment policies to fall in line with government and corporate requirements.
