CA wins big at LinuxWorld

Computer Associates (CA) has won three Open Source Product Excellence awards at this year`s LinuxWorld Conference and Expo in New York for its Unicenter solutions. It was also named as a finalist in three other key categories.

The event exclusively focuses on Linux and open source solutions.

CA`s Unicenter Network and Systems Management won the coveted Best of Show award and Best System Integration Solution award, while Unicenter AutoSys Job Management 4.0 won for Best Productivity Application.

CA was also named a finalist as Best Network/Server Application for eTrust Access Control, Best Embedded Linux Solution for CleverPath Portal, and Best Developer Tools for AllFusion Harvest Change Manager.

"This big win underscores how CA is uniquely addressing the growing demand for enterprise-class management for Linux," said Tarkan Maner, vice president of corporate marketing, CA.

"CA will continue to develop state-of-the-art management solutions for Linux and use Linux as an enterprise-wide management platform, so that our customers can take full advantage of the economy, reliability and performance that Linux offers."

Presented in conjunction with the UniForum Association, the Open Source Product Excellence Awards at LinuxWorld recognise open source product and service innovations offered by some of the world`s leading ISVs, OEMs, service providers and developers.

Unicenter Network and Systems Management for Linux won Best System Integration Solution award over solutions from Compaq, IBM, Shaffer Solutions and Ximian.

Unicenter AutoSys Job Management 4.0 was named Best Productivity Application over solutions from Caldera International, MandrakeSoft, OmniCluster Technologies, Red Hat, Sun Microsystems and Ximian.

Underscoring its commitment to Linux, CA recently announced 23 new solutions that enable users to manage, secure, preserve and integrate Linux from laptop to mainframe.

CA currently offers 54 solutions for managing systems on Linux: 42 are generally available and 12 are in beta release and scheduled for general availability within three to six months.
