CA AppLogic cloud platform named Best Cloud Platform at 2011 Cloud Computing World Forum

Johannesburg, 23 Jun 2011

CA Southern Africa has announced a significant accolade for CA's AppLogic cloud platform, with the winning of a Cloud Computing World Series Award for Best Cloud Platform.

The award was presented to CA Technologies yesterday, at the third annual Cloud Computing World Forum, in Olympia, London.

Andrea Lodolo, CTO of CA Southern Africa, says CA's AppLogic is an important breakthrough in the cloud market.

“It is self-contained and provides everything required to build a cloud environment. Based on open source technology, it also uses commodity server technology as a base, which means it is cost-effective, allowing data centres to start off with a small, inexpensive footprint and ramp it up to meet the escalating requirements of growing businesses.”

Lodolo notes that CA Technologies has built the application from the ground up to support cloud computing, so it has encompassed everything from provisioning to self-service all the way through to billing.

“This is an important global acknowledgment of the ability of CA's AppLogic platform to deliver a powerful, yet simple way to immediately deploy applications to a cloud,” Lodolo concludes.
