Bytes People Solutions launches virtual classroom

Bytes People Solutions, an internationally accredited IT education, training, skills development and people consulting firm in the Bytes Technology Group, has launched a virtual classroom environment in Johannesburg that will provide cost-effective access to the full range of courses on offer to learners from Cape Town and Durban.

“It has always been a challenge to provide access to the full spectrum of courses on offer in all our regions,” says Pieter Nel, customer relationship executive at Bytes People Solutions. “With the virtual classroom we can now provide live teacher instruction and online feedback that enables real-time voice interaction, whiteboard sharing, and breakout sessions to enhance a student's learning experience. This gives learners the opportunity to interact with the trainer as well as other delegates and in so doing, our customers will have access to top-quality IT education for their employees, without having to incur additional costs for flights and accommodation.”

The company has equipped a classroom in Gauteng with state-of-the-art hardware including a smart whiteboard, cameras and additional screens. Training sessions are broadcast to Bytes People Solutions' regions in Cape Town and Durban. Delegates from around the country will be able to attend the same class and have access to the same experienced instructor. They will be able to see the content projected onto the smart whiteboard and will also be able to view the instructor on an LCD screen.

As an authorised training provider for software vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, Citrix, VMware and CompTIA, the virtual classroom enables Bytes People Solutions to provide far greater access to training on specialised products.

“Because we are able to extend the classes offered in Gauteng to our other regions,” says Nel, “more people within these regions will have access to the relevant courses. This will lead to an increase in the number of certified and skilled resources, which is critical for the ongoing development of the local IT industry.”
